The Genoa Township Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association (GTCPAAA) was created for those graduates of the Genoa Township Citizen Police Academy who wish to continue serving their community by sharing their knowledge and support for both The Genoa Township Police Department and the Genoa Township community.
All graduates of the Genoa Township Citizen Police Academy are invited to join the GTCPAAA and support the Genoa Township Police Department. The GTPD is able to rely on GTCPAAA volunteers to help at many community events to ensure a safe and fun environment. The GTCPAAA members act as interactive support volunteers between the Genoa Township Police Department and the community. GTCPAAA Members assist at local events such as the Genoa Township Business Association Expo, National Night Out, Movie Night, and other community events.
The GTCPAAA with the Genoa Township Police Department practices Community Oriented Policing. It is a philosophy that promotes and supports organizational strategies to address the causes, and reduce the fear of crime and social disorder through problem-solving tactics and police-community partnerships.
